Welcome to the official website of the South Yorkshire Police Male Voice Choir
The SYPMVC currently numbers around 30 singers, made up of retired police officers, civilian support staff, relatives and friends, meeting each Monday evening between 7.00pm - 9.00pm at Hallcross School, Thorne Road, Doncaster.
Founded in 1925, and recognised as possibly the oldest police male voice choir in the country, we continue to enjoy singing and helping raise money for many worthy causes.
The choir has also, over the years, made a number of records, audio tapes and CDs, all of which have sold well to the general public.
The choir has frequent links with South Yorkshire Police Band and also enjoys the support of both the Chief Constable and the Police Sports and Social Club.
We are always looking for new members and you can be assured of a very warm and friendly welcome. Don't worry if you cannot read music or are unsure in which section you would be best suited. We will sort that out for you. All we look for is a willingness to learn and be part of what is a very close family. If you love singing, and are available on Monday nights, why not consider joining us?
For further details on any aspect of the choirs activities, or to book the choir for your next concert, please contact our choir secretary, Malcolm Briggs, by emailing him on firstname.lastname@example.org. To help cover costs, concerts fees are from as little as £125.00
